This Privacy Policy explains how Minivo ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Minivo application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

Account Information

  • Email address
  • Firebase User ID
  • Sign in with Apple identifier
  • Facebook login identifier

Content Information

  • Links you submit
  • Parsed article content
  • Generated summaries
  • Audio files created by text-to-speech services

Technical and Marketing Data

  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • Crash logs (via Firebase Crashlytics)
  • Marketing Identifiers: Advertising identifiers such as IDFA (on iOS) or Google Advertising ID (on Android) are collected only if you explicitly grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
  • Analytics identifiers (via Firebase Analytics and Meta/Facebook SDK).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • authenticate your account
  • parse and store article content
  • generate summaries using AI providers (e.g., OpenAI)
  • generate audio using AI text-to-speech services
  • improve application performance and fix bugs
  • provide customer support
  • enforce our Terms of Service
  • optimize our advertising and find new users with similar interests via Meta (Facebook) platforms.

We do not:

  • sell your personal information
  • use your data to train AI models.
  • share your article content or generated summaries with advertising partners.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Although Minivo is offered in the United States, we maintain privacy practices consistent with modern standards, including GDPR principles such as purpose limitation, data minimization, and transparency.

We rely on the following bases:

  • Performance of a service: To provide the core functionality of the app.
  • User consent: For marketing events and tracking technologies (obtained via the ATT prompt).
  • Legitimate interest: For service improvement, security, and measuring marketing effectiveness.

4. How We Share Your Information

We only share limited information with trusted service providers necessary for operation:

  • Google Firebase: For authentication, database hosting, analytics, and crash reporting.
  • AI Service Providers: We transmit article text to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Google, and others) solely for the purpose of generating summaries and audio.
  • Meta (Facebook): We share pseudonymized event data (e.g., app activations, subscription purchases) to measure marketing performance and optimize ad delivery. This data does not include your article content, summaries, or account credentials.

Important: These providers receive only the data necessary for their specific processing tasks. We do not share your saved articles or personal summaries with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Article and Summary Storage

Articles and summaries are stored on our secure servers to:

  • identify duplicate content (caching)
  • provide faster access to previously processed articles
  • reduce unnecessary AI processing costs

You may request the deletion of all stored content associated with your account at any time.

6. Cookies and Tracking

  • Minivo does not use cookies within the mobile application.
  • Analytics and marketing data are collected through SDKs (Software Development Kits) only if you explicitly allow tracking through the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.

7. Your Rights (US & Global)

Depending on your location (including rights under CCPA/CPRA in California and GDPR in Europe), you may have the right to:

  • Know: Request information about what personal data we collect.
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Access: Receive a copy of your data.
  • Correct: Update inaccurate information.
  • Opt-out: You have the right to opt-out of the "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. You can exercise this right and manage your tracking preferences at any time through your device's system settings (App Tracking Transparency) or by contacting us.

8. Data Storage and Retention

We store article data, summaries, and audio files associated with your account until your account is deleted. Upon a deletion request, all personal data and user-generated content are permanently removed from our active databases.

Server Location

Information is primarily stored and processed on cloud infrastructure located in the United States. By using the application, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • controlled access to databases
  • secure authentication via major providers (Apple, Google, Facebook)

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You use the service at your own risk.

10. Children's Privacy

Minivo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it immediately.

11. Changes to the Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If significant changes occur, we will notify users within the application or via email. Continued use of Minivo constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
